What new things are happening at Falcon this summer?
It's always great to see familiar faces on the first day of camp. We know you look forward to all of your favorite camp activities and traditions all winter long. In order to get you even more excited, we are pleased to tell you about some new activities and programs for the Summer of 2010.
New!!!! American Red Cross Babysitting Certification Course
Are you looking for a way to make some extra money during the school year? Your neighbors will never lose your resume and business cards (which we help you create) when they need a babysitter. This program is open to all interested 12-15 year old campers who are staying four weeks.
American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification Course
CIT's and four week fifteen year olds now have the opportunity to be certfied as a lifeguard during his/her stay at Falcon. We have five newly certified lifeguards from the First Session and five participants for Second Session.

The Creative Arts Program-We will post some of the new projects for 2010 soon!!!
Falcon proudly introduces a new program where campers take an active role in photography, film making, creative writing, and many other multi-media projects. One period each day, campers who volunteer for creative arts will meet to work on his/her project. The projects range from commercials and documentaries to improving your photography skills and poetry. Campers plan and implement the project from making the story boards to walking around with video cameras/digital cameras to shoot photographs or footage. Campers then get to take home a final copy show to friends and family at home.
New!!!! The Leaders In Training Program (LIT's)
With the large success of our current Junior Staff Program, Falcon has decided to extend these programs to our oldest campers. The LIT program will give the oldest campers the opportunity to work on leadership skills through weekly meetings, counselor assistant positions in activity areas, and opportunities for more in depth projects throughout camp. Though this program will not be fully ready until the summer of 2010, a few of our oldest campers have already begun. You can see these select campers giving tours on Opening and Visitor's Day or acting as Counselor Assistants (CA's) in activity areas. Do you have an idea that we can add to the program? Please send it to Nici at nicibuzza@yahoo.com.

Is there anything else I can do as a returning camper?
Upon your return, you also have a new and important responsibility. We count on returning campers to help us make new campers feel welcome and have fun.
Here are some things you can do:- Be friendly, compassionate and understanding
- Greet and talk with first time campers
- Include them in activities and teams
- Encourage them to be themselves
- Help them find their way around camp
"Dear Dave and Emily: Ethan and Jordan are very excited to return in June. They are looking forward to spending July 4th with you this year. Thank you for creating a safe, fun place that they believe is their second home!" - Cathy Sprunger
