DUE TO PROGRAMMING CHANGES, WE WILL NOT BE OFFERING HORSE LOVER CAMP IN THE SUMMER OF 2013. If you are interested in riding more often while at camp, please contact us regarding our Extra Riding program in the Traditional Camp setting.
Saddle-Up
Imagine riding into the twilight with your mare on a warm summer evening; kicking up the dust from the path as you trot along to the sound of crickets chirping and owls hooting in the distance. You arrive back at your stable as the sun sets in time to feed your horse and rope her up for the night.
From sunrise to sun down, the focus is on horses. Falcon Horse Camp provides girls ages 11-15 the opportunity to interact with horses in a fun and educational environment.
This unique program provides campers with their own horse for the week. A typical day involves three to four hours of actual riding time. Time is divided between group and individual lessons, trail rides and games. The remainder of the day includes groundwork, horse care and other stable duties.
Our staff has trained at equestrian colleges and with riding teams across the United States and Europe. Staff members are selected for their excellent teaching skills, combined with their knowledge of horses and love for children. The consistency and quality of the program is attributable to 15 years of careful supervision by Director Emily Caswall Devey. Emily is a veteran clinician with the Horsemanship Safety Association, training and teaching certification courses to aspiring riding instructors. She has ridden, shown, taught and judged horsemanship in a number of capacities over the years. Her wealth of experience has helped make our program one of the best in the Midwest.
A very limited enrollment allows us to properly match each camper with the appropriate horse/pony. It also permits us to provide the individual instruction and attention necessary to ensure a rewarding experience. The $1050 tuition for camp includes the following: All in-camp activities, accommodations, lessons, routine camp nursing, personal take-home riding video, and Horse Lover camp T-shirt.
"Hi, I miss you guys. It's weird that I'm not there. I miss the camp so much. I'm definitely coming back this year. I wish you guys all good luck." - A Horse Camper
"Hi Dave: Just wanted to write a quick note and tell you thank you so much for our daughter's first resident horse camp adventure. She absolutely loved camp (and so did I) and can't say enough about it still! She started a camp scrapbook and photo album. Again, thank you so much for a great camp experience. Your camp is the epitome of what a summer camp should be like. As a first-time camp mom, I feel VERY comfortable leaving her in your staffs' care. We can't wait until next year!" - New Camp Mom
