What to Expect at Overnight Summer Camp

First Year Nerves

Sending your child to sleepaway camp can be an adjustment for both you and your kids. This is why we strive to communicate with both you and your camper before summer camp begins. Many parents have been through the first year nerves of allowing their child to leave their nest for much of the summer. Through their own discoveries at summer camp in Ohio, campers develop communication skills, learn how to take charge, overcome challenges, deal with differences and gain the confidence to make decisions and become leaders at Falcon Camp. You can learn lifelong skills and memories that will last for years to come. Allow your child to mature and discover through the Falcon Camp summer experience.

Parents and campers alike love the Falcon Camp experience. Check out our testimonials to see what they have to say about their summers with us.

Homesickness & Support

Homesickness is a natural part of stepping into something new, and many campers experience it at some point. At Falcon Camp, our approach is to support campers through those feelings while helping them build confidence and independence. Our counselors take time to listen, reassure, and then re-engage campers in activities, where homesickness often fades quickly. With a full schedule of engaging experiences and a strong cabin community, most campers settle in and begin to thrive sooner than expected.

We also encourage parents to prepare campers by setting positive expectations. Let your child know that it’s okay to feel homesick at times, and that you believe in their ability to work through it. Our team is always here to help, and if a situation requires additional attention, our administrative staff will step in to provide extra support.
