The Falconer - 2011 Editions
From the Director
I am very happy to officially announce that Tali Cornblath joins our Falcon leadership team on a full time, year round basis. Tali is in her 12th year at Falcon and graduated this past spring from Tufts University with a degree in Drama and Child Development. She actually started her career at Falcon as a Horse Camper all the way from the Chicago area where her family lives. Her rise through all of the staff levels include being a CIT, Jr. Counselor, Sr. Counselor, Drama Director, Creative Arts Director, Hawk Unit Leader, Assistant Program Director and now Program Director. Tali is also a lifeguard, a Water Safety Instructor and teaches First Aid/CPR and Life Guarding to our staff and older campers.
She will be living in the Cleveland area so she can be a larger part of our winter efforts to make Falcon the best camp anywhere and to learn more of what it takes to be a professional in the camping field. We are excited to have Tali’s skills, enthusiasm and leadership continue at Falcon on an even higher level than before. We welcome Tali to the top leadership team at the premier summer camp in the Midwest!

Big Changes for Creative Arts!
Creative Arts added some new technology this summer with the addition of camper and staff podcasting! What is a podcast? It’s like a recorded radio broadcast that is available for download online (check out our website!). We had a blast creating original stories, poems, interviews, camp reports and the like. When mixed with some software, these podcasts really came to life! You can download them in mp3 format to listen to over and over. Check out the “Forms and Downloads” page of www.falconcamp.com.
We also launched a YouTube channel this summer: FalconCamp1959. Search for us to see camper videos, clips from our Rachel Marie concert and more clips as the fall and winter progress. Make sure to check back often–or better yet, subscribe.
Upcoming: We are working on creating an online portfolio of all the photography work we did in Creative Arts this summer. Campers made excellent and very creative collages based around selfchosen themes at camp. Stay in touch for when those go live!
As always, if you have creative work about camp you want to share with us, get in touch! We love to post, share, and celebrate all our creative campers and staff! Happy Fall!
