2016 Falconer Newsletters
The 2016 Editions of the Falconer
Winter 2016
From the Director
We seem to be flying through the winter months. The warmer weather this fall allowed us to get
more outside maintenance work finished and camp looks better right now than it has in many many
years. Todd and Nici are well into staff interviews and hiring for 2016, early registration was excellent with an increasing number of new campers already deciding to join us this year, horses are all
well and healthy at the farm, and I seem to literally spend hours on the phone and email every day
with new potential camp families. We are gearing up for the camp fair season and you can see our
current schedule in this newsletter.
I’ll write about our other wonderful nurses in future newsletters. Nurse Tammy and Nurse Jan also
have long histories at Falcon that help make a difference in the quality of care we give to or campers. Their roles at Falcon go far beyond just being a nurse and help create the atmosphere that
separates Falcon from other camps and makes us one of the premier camps in the country.
See you this summer!
Dave
Spring 2016
From the Director
This is always an exciting time of year as the weather warms up and we start to get camp ready. Camp looks great! With all of the work done last fall (mostly by Todd and maintenance Dave – different from Director Dave) and the extra effort being made this spring, the camp facility looks as good as it has in many years. All the staff have been hired and we are excited both by the returning staff and the new ones coming in. Falcon has long been recognized within the camping profession for the quality of our staff and the quality of training they receive. Expectations are high again this year. Registration looks strong and we are anticipating some campers joining us from China in the second half of the summer.
Todd, Nici and I are so pleased to have all of our core staff returning with Shirley and Carla in the kitchen, Pam in the stables and Lynne, Tammy and Jan in the infirmary. Our jobs are so much easier knowing that these areas are covered with the skill and care that these folks give each year. It also allows us to spend that much more time with our campers and our staff.
See you soon,
Dave
