Congratulations to our 2023 Highflyers!
The highest award at Falcon is known as the Highflyer, and it’s not something you take home. Instead, the Highflyer board hangs in the Dining Hall for all to see and celebrate. We often have alumni coming back to visit or drop off their own kids at camp, and the first thing they do is point out their names. We have Highflyers dating back to the beginning of camp!
Highflyers are also special because there is a limit to how many people receive it. Staff in each activity area can select from zero to three campers in each unit, who they feel are the best, most improved, or put forth the most effort in that activity. This process is secret, so staff don’t make decisions based on other activity areas.
In recent years, part of the tradition has been writing the names on a beautifully decorated board (thanks, Liv!!). You can see the top of this year’s board in the photo above.
